The company’s growth in new international markets, the investment in transport with technological innovation tools and the development of sustainable initiatives in CO2 measurement, have been highlighted as distinguishing elements to recognize EccoFreight as the best entrepreneurial project of 2016.

On November 29th, the III Edition of the CEPYME Awards was held in the main auditorium of the Reina Sofía Art Museum, awards granted by the employer’s organisation CEPYME recognizing the trajectory of small and medium-sized enterprises and their contribution to the productive fabric.

In this edition EccoFreight has been recognized with the award for best “Entrepreneur Project of the Year”. In the words of Fernando Giménez Guervós, CEO of the company: “ The achievement of an award like this,  the best entrepreneurial company, is a great reason to continue betting on the transport sustainability and in the innovation of the services, that are the engine of EccoFreight. Our plans are to consolidate in the current markets and to continue opening new routes in our international expansion”.

EccoFreight competed in two categories: “Entrepreneur Project” and “SME of the Year” by the results achieved in 2016, expecting  to invoice close to 20 million euros. This year, record figures were reached for the company, transporting more than 16,000 TEUs, 350 tons of air cargo and 50,000 tons of renewable energy projects.

One of the bets of the company to differentiate, is the sustainability of its services,  and for this it has one of the most innovative initiatives in its sector, the measurement of CO2 emissions in its transport, with forecasts for this year to reach 150,000 tons of measured emissions. This allows to know the impact of emissions in each transport, control and inform each customer about the lower impact routes in their shipments, which contributes to sustainable and environmental awareness.
