Shipping dry and reefer cargo

One of the most common modes of shipping is dry cargo transport, which covers a wide range of different goods that are transported in shipping containers.

Dry cargo and general cargo do not usually require excessively special treatment: these are goods of a very diverse nature, from materials such as wood and concrete, minerals, as well as chemicals, medical devices, parcels, palletized shipments, and foods that do not require refrigeration, such as grains and cereals.

Food transport – dry and reefer cargo

There is a wide range of food products that do not require refrigeration for transport, such as cereals, vegetable grains, etc.

However, certain products intended for human consumption are particularly delicate and need to be kept in optimal conditions throughout transport. This is the case for fresh products such as fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and seafood, as well as pre-cooked, frozen and deep-frozen products. Each type of food product requires a specific temperature during transport, depending on its nature. In the case of meat, fish and shellfish, storage temperatures range between 3 and 7 degrees Celsius, while in the case of frozen and deep-frozen products, the necessary maintenance temperature can reach -20°C.
