2018 Milestones at EccoFreight

2018-milestones EccoFreight

A few months ago, we told you about the annual highlights of the logistics and transportation sector, but today we are going to address EccoFreight’s 2018 Milestones.

It was certainly a year full of growth, hard work and new challenges. We finished the year with 30 people in the team, working in our three offices in Spain: Madrid, Valencia and Seville. In addition, we started the air freight service and became an IATA agent, certified by the International Air Transport Association.

For us it is very important to provide innovative technological tools for our customers, which is why we work hard on our EccoTools, aimed at making day-to-day logistics operations easier.

With EccoTrack our clients get real-time updates on their freight, so that they can have total control during the whole process.

With TechnoFreight we provide our clients with a multidisciplinary tool aimed at gaining insights on shipment information, with the possibility of checking the information online or printing it in different formats.

With e-Cost our clients get a tailor-made quote and can always stay in touch with the sales agent issuing the quote.

In addition, we strive to continue to improve EccoPrint, our logistics’ GHG emission reduction service. Now the calculation factors implemented allow us to advise our clients with the most sustainable and efficient transport alternatives, always at a competitive price.

EccoFreight’s 2018 milestones

We shipped a total of 21,952 TEUs throughout the year, hosting a total of 321,754 tons of perishable goods and 26,655 tons of renewable energy projects related freight.

We measured a total of 50,104 tons of CO2, optimizing 44,735 tons of CO2.

New challenges for 2019

This year will be full of technological developments: we are now offering our customers a new GPS service that will allow our clients to track their cargo in great detail. A service they will be able to use either independently or by hiring our freight forwarding services.

In addition, we are working on a major project to continue contributing to supply chain’s sustainability, aimed at companies that want to strengthen their environmental commitment and prove that they really strive to reduce and offset their carbon footprint with verified and certified assessments.

We know that a more sustainable and eco-friendly logistics sector is possible, and we continue to move forward on the path towards decarbonization.
